Meeting called to Order —Chris Smith

Recognition of New Board Members

Randy Dreyfuss Report — Brittany and Geoff no longer employees. Katie Peters from golf shop takes over member relations. Nichole Herr is now membership sales. Golf membership near 300. Socialmembership at 325.

Projects —Clean- up of 17 now a priority. Lighting club sign at corner of Angeles Crest in the works. Thiswould include re-work of sign also. Asphalt to be finished soon between 14t"green and 15th tee.

Tournament Calendar — 2018 calendar complicated by failure to complte 2017 events. Club Championship and Tournament of Champions yet to be played. Schedule of events in process. Schedule to include format of play. Canyo Classic scheduled for 5/18-20, the weekend after Mother's Day.

Calendar of events to be posted throughtout club including men's restroom.

Course Summary — Marketing piece reviewed and discussed. Updates/accuracy of information to be investigated. Stairs at 14 and 15 to be improved with new material on stairs.

MEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION MINUTES

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE COUNTRY CLUB

February 1, 2018

Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.in.

The committee welcomed Shawn Keltner as a new member to the committee.

The cart path on Hole 14 has been completed.

The club is working on enclosures for irrigation equipment pending City of La Canada input onthe need for permits.

Discussion regarding new paths. It is noted that we have 6 1/2 miles of asphalt paths. Quotes have been in the $500,000 range. $200,000.00 to do the parking lot.

STEVEN'S REPORT

Please take notice of the red/gold tee box on No. 2. Trees have been trimmed and brush eliminated.

Work is being done oil the wedding lawn including hedges.

Greens are now at an excellent speed. Measure out at 10.5.

Hole No. 17 is an ongoing project. Trash pile to the left of the fairway is being whittled down.

Southern Califonlia Edison is involved.

Overseeding of tee boxes are ayear-round project. No need for ineinbers to fill in divots on the tee boxes.

The front of the green on No. 18 is being re-graded to eliminate the bowl shape that now exists.

Greens will be verticut after the Canyon Classic.

March 19 through 21 the course will be closed to aerate the greens.

Drop circles on 11, 8 and 14 were discussed. Team play —Team travels to Sierra La Verne to play on February 17th through 18th.

Yelp reviews — We need good reviews on the Yelp..site.

GREENS REPORT

Dan Gaston will be organizing "Bandini brigade." It is noted that there is no seed in the sand bottles because of the type of grass on our course. Filling divots is designed to keep the fairways flat.

Buckets of sand have been removed on the tee boxes since Steven takes care of that. Watch fordowned green stakes and snake an effort to turn theirs to an up position.

No rules report.

HANDICAP REPORT

New members need to interface with the golf shop to make sure their GHIN is transferred without duplicate payment. Members need to enter their own scores. Chairman spot checks cards.

COUPLES REPORT

Sunday is a Jack and Jill tournament.

TOURNAMENT REPORT

Listing of all tournaments will be out next Saturday. Listing of all tournaments will also be placed on the web site. Next MGA event is a partner best ball event on March 10th.

CANYON CLASSIC

Goal is 40 teams/80 people. Thursday will cost $10.00 for the nine-hole event which will include betting.

Volunteers needed.

Pamela will take care of marketing. Dan has been decided. Adidas will be looked at forcontributing to the goody bag as well as Warrior Golf. Shirts may be a windshirt.

Tony has been enlisted as a cigar guy.

Alan will take care of the trophies. Trophy budget is $1,100.00.

The issue of a Calcutta for the Canyon Classic is deferred. The horserace will be after Friday's round.

Need volunteers for the membership table.

Pricing for the Canyon Classic will attempt to keep the price below $400.00.

Tee signs will be $100.00 to $200.00 range.

Shirts for board members are being ordered at this tune.

MEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION MINUTES

MARCH 7, 2018

Meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m.

RANDY DREYFUS REPORT

Corrections on prior minutes — repaving all paths costs in excess of $500,000.00 (note: this was already corrected in earlier minutes posted above on wesbsite).

The company Flat Paths is scheduled to be on property for 4 days beginning April 18.

Flat Path has developed a machine that grinds paths within 1/8 of being level. One machine comes on property, therefore, there is no need to close the course or any holes as work is being done. Our maintenance crew will help Flat Paths with cleanup of dirt or ground asphalt that is left on the ground after the grinding.

The subject of the enclosures over the pumps has made a little progress. A conditional use permit is needed for the pump station on Lake No. 3.

Steven's  Report

Aeration will occur March 19 through March 21. Greens will be punched with1/2 inch core. Dry jet machine will not be used at this time. Punching will include fairways and greens for the closure period. The rough will be aerated after the course reopens.

The work to remove the trash piles to the left of the 17th Fairway is continuing.

Greens — people seem to be repairing divots better.

Signage for the course is progressing.

It was mentioned that bunker sand is needed on No. 6 and No. 9. Bunker sand is quite expensive so Steven will look at moving around some material that is currently on property. Ithas been 7 years since sand has been purchased for all bunkers.

Work on 15, 16 and 10 has been done in regards to pulling out rocks. Fronts of bunkers are thinner than usual in hopes of balls running down to a better, more level lie.

Rake position in the bunkers was discussed. The current preference for rake position is that the head of the rake is in the bunker and leaning against an edge with the handle out of the bunker.

Benches at the tee boxes are no longer an issue. Determined not a good use of funds.

Discussion re small boxes for broken tees on every tee box.

Over seeding at tee boxes has resulted in better tee boxes. No. 9 and No. 2 still require work.

Steven was able to obtain seven used mowers from Bel Air Country Club for $1,000.00.

Good job Steven!

Color on the course is not bad. Kikuyu turns yellow when it goes dormant. Bermuda turns brown when it goes dormant.

MEMBERSHIP

Nicole discussed hosting Jag tournaments. Open house will be this Saturday for new members.

Handouts will include schedules and the course description flyer.

KATIE

We should have an MDA table at the Saint Paddy's Day tournament. Katie discussed the use of Constant Comment for email blasts. MGA can utilize the Whole-in-One if we inform Katie.

March 10 Tournament

Currently scheduled for a 2-day tournament. If rain cancels Sunday play, Saturday results will stand.

Recognitions that the new posters of events in men's locker room, the locker bar and the pro shop look great. Good job Dan!

Rules

Out-of-bound stakes on No. 1 were discussed since it is discussed in the course description flyer. It was determined that the out-of-bound stakes are at the boundary fence. Tom plans on meeting with Joanne Farmer in order to identify difficult rule problems throughout the course. Pace of play flyer discussed.

Ian/Club House Report

Saint Paddy's Day event will be a nine-hole tournament with dinner and entertainment upstairs.

Treasurer Report

Tom Fiori passed out treasure report. If further information is required, please contact an MGA officer.

Tournament Report

The Canyon Classic planning is progressing nicely. The club will provide carts and will not require guest fees to be paid to the club.

Discussion of pricing resulted in an agreement that the price for the Canyon Classic will be $599.00. This price will include the buy-in an all tee prizes and all food and beverage.

The party will be upstairs as opposed to the pool.

MGA officers will be getting shirts. Cutter and Buck. Orange with gray logo.

Give-a-way for the Canyon Classic will be a golf jacket/wind jacket with half zipper and half sleeve.

Goody bag is still in progress.

Tee sponsors required. Pricing is $100.00. Tee sponsor forms are required.

Trophies

Allen is in charge of trophies and will utilize the guy from La Crescenta.

Wednesday Night League

Discussion re revitalizing the Wednesday night league surrounded pricing, food, and booze. No decisions made yet.
