Minutes

February 6, 2020

President – In Tracy’s absence, Vice President Jane Curley called the February General Meeting to order at 1:35pm on the veranda.  Minutes for the November meeting as written and posted on the website by Secretary, Tanya Gerard were motioned and approved by Sally Harper and seconded by Susan Mercer.

Jane made the following announcements:

·        Bank signatures have been changed for the new board

·        Our fictitious Name Application required every 5 years has been completed, thank you to Tracy

·        The 2019 Audit is almost complete, thank you to Lynette and Rosa

·        In the future all committee cost overruns will need approval by President, Vice President or Treasurer

Vice President – Jane Curley announced the sign-up deadline for the He Said/She Said “Mardi Gras” Tournament is Feb 18th.  This will be 8:00am shotgun.  Further announcements will be sent out to members.

Jane announced the possible renaming of the annual “He Said/She Said” Tournament.  General members were asked for their ideas.  Members were very accepting of changing the name.  Tracy Everett suggested renaming in honor of Barbara Tolle, since she started the He Said/She Said Tournament.  Possible names were mentioned including “Barbara’s Tournament” and “Barbara Said Tournament”.  This will be brought up again in the future.

Jane presented the possible buy-in for new members to the Hole-in-One Fund.  Discussion followed, and the membership recommended that more information be gathered and then discussed at the board level.

Reminder to check the “Judy’s” Know the Rules on website.  This month she explains what to post in the event you cannot complete a round.

Treasurer – Rosa presented the 2020 proposed Budget.  The traditional $100 President’s gift has been eliminated.  The President’s gift will now be a voluntary donation by the members.  In addition, the annual traditional $40 for flowers to thank the old Board members and welcome the new board members has been eliminated.

The detailed line item budget will be posted on the website for 30 days, and then be voted on by the general membership at the next General Meeting.

The following tournaments are self-funded and not part of the annual budget:

·        He Said/She Said

·        Mini Guest

·        Member/Guest Invitational

·        Project Touch

The Treasurer’s report is available and all members are welcome to review it.

Tournament Chairs – Theresa Bartol announced the Partners Eclectic Tournament scheduled for March 5th and 12th.

Congratulations to Jane Curley for January Ace of the Month.

Lydia Harnois said the Closest to the Pin for January 16th and 23rd playdates were forgotten, so she had a raffle for the winners.   Angie Coates and Rebecca Bolander were drawn for winners.

Tracy Everett won Closest to the Pin on Feb 6th.

Handicap Chair – Glenna reviewed errors from last week.  There were 5 wrong scores, 2 with wrong date, 2 posted wrong order, and 7 people did not post at all.  The most confusion stems from not knowing which nine holes is the front and which is the back, if posting hole by hole.  This information is posted on the back of the scorecard.  The Front Nine is always the odd numbered handicap holes, Back Nine is even numbered handicap holes.  Glenna has offered to help any members with questions concerning posting with the new World Handicap System.

Membership Chair – Donna introduced new members Rose Nowak-Smith and Vicky Wood.

Social – Kathleen Parkes said she is working to include an a-la-cart selection to the Thursday lunch menu.

Jane asked for a motion to approve $500 deposit for the Christmas Party on December 11, 2020 at Pechanga Cottonwood Room.  Sally Harper approved, and Corlette seconded.  A vote was taken and the membership approved.

Kathleen asked that anyone who is a TCI Resort member, to please let her know.  This would affect Tournament costs for those resort members, as they have already pre-paid their golf.

New Business

Question was asked if there would be a garage sale this year.

Heart Association walk will be April 18th at Lake Skinner.  We will have a group of walkers in honor of Barbara Tolle.  Sign up sheet will be forthcoming.

50/50 Raffle – Donna ran the 50/50 raffle.  $80 collected, $40 given out

$12 – Patty W.

$13 – Lydia H.

$15 – Rebecca B.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:03pm

Respectfully submitted,

Tanya Gerard, Secretary
