POSTING POLICY
Last Updated: 06/19/22

As the SSGC Handicap Chair it is my responsibility to assist all members in maintaining their USGA handicap.  On a monthly basis I review the handicaps being generated for each member.  In doing this sometimes I find anomalies in the posting of scores.  Since the end of the quarantine period, we have had an increase in the number of rounds being played by our members.  However, I have found that some of our members are not posting scores when they play our COVID 19 club events or one day away tournaments.  It is essential that everyone post consistently, whether you are playing a club event or whether you are playing with a group of friends.  When I see mistakes or lack of postings, I try to reach out to the member by email asking if I can be of help.  Sometimes help is asked for, sometimes it is not.  In order to maintain the integrity of the handicap system, please post all rounds and apply the process of reducing your score if you shoot an excessively high score on any hole.  The easiest way to post is by using the SCGA Handicap application.  With this application loaded on your phone, tablet or computer, you can post your score in less than one minute.

Normally, our posting policy is: tournament directors will post all scores for monthlies, One Day Away, Club Championship, Rounds one of the Presidents’ Cup and Founders’ Cup. All recreational rounds and subsequent rounds of the President’s Cup and Founders’ Cup will be posted by the player.

If you make a posting mistake, forgot to post, or are not sure how to post, please feel free to contact me through my email address, larry.tash@gmail.com, so that I can correct errors or help you to post properly if you are not sure about how to use the new system.  I am here to help you; you just need to ask.  Thank you.
